Delete your OpenSein account
You can do this at any time and without giving a reason. In the app, on the website or with the link in our messages.
In the OpenSein app
In the app from the App Store or Google Play: open the My tab. Below Sign out you will find Delete account. You see what is deleted and your phone asks you once more.
On the website
Sign in on opensein.nl and open Settings, under My OpenSein in the menu. Delete account is at the very bottom. You confirm it once more and then you are signed out.
With the settings link
Our messages end with a settings link. It works without signing in. Open it and choose Delete all my data at the bottom.
What is deleted
Deleting happens right away and cannot be undone. This is removed:
- Your account with your contact details and your sign-in methods, such as Google or a passkey.
- Your search, your channels and your alerts.
- Your dossier with your documents.
- Your search buddy and your achievements.
- A running search pass and your text message credit. They lapse without a refund.
Do you search together with others? Then you step out and they keep searching. If you invited the others, the household stops. They keep their own account and get a message.
A search pass and text message credit do not renew by themselves. So there is nothing to cancel. Deleting is not a withdrawal, though. Want your money back within the cooling-off period? Then first withdraw your purchase in Settings, under Terms and refunds.
What stays
The payment records: purchases, withdrawals with name and email address, the use of text message credit, promo codes and partner commissions. We keep them for seven years, because the law requires it. The link to your account is removed wherever that is allowed.
Anything not tied to your account, such as a question to the help desk, keeps its own period. All periods are in the privacy statement.
Not working?
Email us, preferably from the address that belongs to your account. We will then delete it for you. We reply within one month.
